Meredith Frazier wins the Ann Bernard Martin Award at the 2015 Biological Sciences retreat. This award is "presented annually to a graduate student who has demonstrated exceptional promise in research and scholarly activities in the early stages of his/her graduate career in Biological Sciences." Congratulations Meredith!
Jim Hurley will visit the department on Monday, October 19th, to give the departmental seminar. This visit is co-hosted with the Center for Structural Biology. Jim will also give a brief presentation on the Berkeley biophysics graduate program, which will be a great opportunity for undergraduates to hear about a top U.S. program on campus. Lauren will give a faculty keynote talk at the 2015 Biological Sciences retreat on Thursday, October 15th. Meredith will also give a talk on her AP4-tepsin project.
The Jackson lab celebrated (lamented?) the end of summer with an outing to Lightning 100's Live on the Green in September.
